Success! but some problems you might want to address:

1. the "Downloaded [BOX] times" the box displays the number of times that page had been viewed, not the download number, correct? either one or the other, some consistency would be killer.

2. the edit protected boxes (reviews, download number times, etc) are a good idea. and they work well. when i tried to edit one of them, it spit me back to the main details page. good job protecting the info.

3. this new editing procedure needs to be covered in the FAQ:

http://www.archive.org/about/faqs.php#145

Thanks for the new feature dudes!

It's how many times someone has gone into the download link and actually grabbed a file using HTTP.

- If they open the info file through there, that count's as 1 download.
- If they download the whole show using HTTP in 1 visit, that counts as 1 download.
- If they visit the detail page and then leave cause they don't like what they see before getting that info file, that count's as 0 downloads, and the number won't change.

Personally, I think this is the most accurate way for us to represent interest since (as far as I know) we can't easily tie in the FTP traffic.

I think he means the description by the box on the edit page is different than on the actual details pages. I can change that. It used to say downloads on both pages, since users never really saw the edit page I didn't change it, and never would have caught it, so thanks.

As for counting FTP downloads, we'll eventually figure it all out.

yeah jon that's what i meant. on the edit page and the reg. show details page, the wordings before the box was differeone. one said downloads the other said directory views or something.

yeah consistency is great :) thanks for the new edit features, kick-ass!

Please just make sure it's clear that this edit form only allows modification of the database information. It doesn't do anything to the text files.
